The purpose of the platform is to maximize human well-being within planetary boundaries. It does so by coupling the free market and democratic governance with the internet age. And it's not just a vision either — it's already being built.

What made it possible is science. By studying economic and political activity through the lens of natural and formal sciences, Coexist uncovers the fundamental building blocks of our society and its institutions. The economy, at its core, is simply a set of metabolic processes operating at various scales. As in all living organisms, societal metabolism consists of both anabolic and catabolic flows. Production is anabolic. Consumption is catabolic. When we internalise its nature this way, the workings of the economy become much easier to grasp, and can be boiled down to a dashboard we all can use to co-organise our lives.
